Dr. Axel Cabrera is a musician and
interdisciplinary researcher specializing in the intersections
of economy, art, aesthetics, and technology.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics (BUAP), a Master’s in Aesthetics
and Art, and a Bachelor’s in Music. His work explores the
labor of artists, the neuroaesthetics of melancholic music,
and creative processes.
Currently a CONAHCYT Postdoctoral Fellow
at the Faculty of Arts (BUAP), he focuses on the role of Artificial Intelligence in
reshaping economic and aesthetic conditions in the arts.
Dr. Cabrera has published in national and international
journals, contributed to book chapters, and presented at
academic conferences.

Axel Cabrera PHD

Dr. Axel Cabrera is a
multidisciplinary researcher and musician whose work explores
the intersections between economy, art, aesthetics, and
technology.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Faculty of Economics at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), with a dissertation focused on the labor conditions of artists. He also earned a Master's degree in Aesthetics and Art, specializing in the neuroaesthetics of melancholic music, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music, where he investigated the creative processes of composers.
Throughout his career, Dr. Cabrera has actively contributed to the Academic Body 268 in territorial processes and has presented at numerous national and international conferences. His scholarly work includes articles published in indexed journals and contributions to various book chapters.
His research approach is interdisciplinary, merging political economy, arts and culture, aesthetics, and artificial intelligence. His central epistemic axis is the articulation of the complexity of social phenomena.

Currently, Dr. Cabrera is a Postdoctoral Researcher (CONAHCYT) at the Faculty of Arts, BUAP, where he is developing a project on Artificial Intelligence and the reconfiguration of economic and aesthetic precarity in music and the arts.
